Silently Starving

What have you been quietly hungry for that you haven't yet given yourself permission to say out loud?

There have been months of quiet conversations, one on one. And something keeps surfacing on repeat...

"Is this it?"

Isn''t it an odd season? To spend decades building something as an entrepreneur. Putting food on the table. Raising a family. Creating a life where your family can have more opportunities than you had growing up. You worked. You built. You accomplished. And then one day, somewhere along the way, you find yourself asking:

Is this it? The older you get, the more clarity life seems to deliver. "It" isn''t the stuff. The material possessions. It isn''t the titles, nor the awards. More and more, "it" becomes about the PEOPLE. The TIME you get to spend with those you care about. The conversations. The experiences. The moments where you aren''t needed for what you produce on a spreadsheet, but are simply welcomed for who you are.

Last week''s Notes for the Next Chapter I shared thoughts around deeply wanting to HONOR the journey that brought you here, while also giving yourself permission to EVOLVE. Just because you built something for one reason doesn''t mean it''s all you ever have to be. You can change, and become something new. You can love the life you''ve built and still be curious about the life waiting to be lived.

Back to those quiet conversations. Something else I''ve noticed over these last several months is how many people are struggling to put their finger on what they want to do next. They know something feels different. Something is calling for their attention. But they can''t quite name it yet.

Maybe you don''t need to have the next chapter figured out before you begin talking about it. But please, don''t let uncertainty become a reason to sit quietly. Don''t wait until you have a polished plan, and don''t wait for the confidence to say exactly what comes next.

Instead, consider TWO things.

  1. Sit with others who encourage you to use your voice out loud. Even when the words may not be quite right, yet.
  2. Find people who don''t need you to have all of the answers. People who are curious enough to sit with you WHILE things feel messy.

When you feel a next chapter calling. Don''t sit silently starving for it. The world needs your voice. And if you ever need a table to sit at, mine is open. Discovery is celebrated here. Messiness is welcome. Perfection is NOT the aim. And everything that brought you to this moment deserves to be honored, even as you discover where you''re heading next.

With that, I''ll leave you with a question:

What have you been quietly hungry for that you haven''t yet given yourself permission to say out loud?

With love and curiosity, Renee
